About Us

The Gourd Guy is the largest provider of clean, hardshell gourds in the midwest. We grow about 20 different varieties of gourds — hardshell, ornamental and luffa, and provide a clean, quality product that is ready for art or crafting of any kind. Owner Larry Haas has been a staple at the Dane County Farmer’s Market for almost 25 years and can be found on the West Washington side of the square, right across from the Inn on the Park (aka Park Inn) on Saturdays as well as at the Wednesday market on Martin Luther King Drive.

While gourds are his specialty, Larry also grows incredible vegetables! Known for his sweet carrots, hot chiles, incredibly juicy tomatoes and a plethora of other vegetables, all of his vegetables are heirloom, grown without chemicals an affordable! Include in the list of vegetables beets, kale, garlic, potatoes, onions, crazy good beans, peas, radish, holy cow broccoli, summer squash, winter squash and more…plus you can get lots of herbs from him as well: parseley, chives, greek and regular oregano, thyme, rosemary, sage, marjoram, tarragon, basil, thai basil and more!

Stop in and say hey!
