About us:

Cress Spring Bakery is located on Cress Spring Farm in the beautiful hills of Vermont Township. Cress Spring Bakery consists of Jeff Ford and daughter Mayana. All of our breads and pastries are made with organic ingredients, locally grown whenever possible. We buy many of our ingredients from other farmer's market vendors, and we bake with wheat and rye grown in Wisconsin. We couldn't imagine a better place to sell our products than the DCFM. The friendships we have developed withour loyal customers and other vendors makes all the hard work worthwhile.

How we make our products:

Our wood fired brick oven is the heart of our bakery. The intense heat and steam of this oven creates crusty, satisfying loaves with unsurpassed flavor and texture. All of our breads are naturally leavened, creating moist bread without the addition of fats, sweeteners, or commercial yeast. The long fermentation process increases the flavor, nutrition, and digestibility of the bread, and is suitable for many people with yeast sensitivities. Our bread and pastries are baked with organic whole grains freshly ground in our stone mill. This preserves the vitamins, minerals, fiber and flavor of the grains.
